It’s Friday! The end of the week!! And of course, it’s time for the Tarot Card Story. This week’s is from one of the cards discussed on Tuesday – the Four of the Pentacles. For journal prompts based on the four of Pentacles, check out my Facebook page – Tasarla Romaney.

Hoarding Treasures

In the ancient city of Eldoria, where magic danced through the cobblestone streets and whispers of enchantment filled the air, there lived a reclusive sorcerer named Alaric. Within the towering walls of his mansion, Alaric hoarded his mystical treasures, his grip on power as tight as the clasp of an iron chain.

One fateful evening, a traveling enchantress named Selene arrived at Alaric’s doorstep, her cloak woven from threads of moonlight and her eyes ablaze with secrets of the arcane. Sensing the tremors of magic that emanated from within the mansion’s walls, Selene knew that fate had led her to this place.

With a knowing smile, Selene offered to read Alaric’s fortune using her deck of tarot cards, each card a portal to realms unknown. Reluctantly, Alaric agreed, his curiosity outweighing his skepticism as the cards were laid out before him.

As Selene revealed the Four of Pentacles, a shimmering aura of gold and emerald enveloped the room, casting a spell of enchantment upon the sorcerer. “The Four of Pentacles,” Selene murmured, her voice like the gentle rustle of leaves in the wind. “You cling to your treasures as if they are the only source of power in this world. But true magic lies in the act of letting go.”

Alaric scoffed at her words, his heart hardened by years of solitude and mistrust. But as the night unfolded and the moon rose high in the sky, a strange transformation began to take hold within his soul.

Driven by an otherworldly compulsion, Alaric ventured into the depths of his mansion, where he unearthed long-forgotten relics and ancient artifacts hidden away in dusty vaults. With each treasure he relinquished, a surge of magic coursed through his veins, filling him with a sense of liberation he had never known.

As dawn broke over the horizon and the last vestiges of darkness faded into light, Alaric emerged from his mansion a changed man. No longer bound by the chains of his own making, he walked among the people of Eldoria, his heart open to the wonders of the world and the magic that flowed through every living thing.

And in that moment, as the city stirred with the promise of a new day, Alaric realized that true power was not found in the hoarding of treasures, but in the boundless expanse of the human heart.
